Okay, first question for you guys with 8psi, does the throttle seem to act alot touchier??? I am talking about being barely in and out of the throttle and having the car surge and sputter. I do think my Cat is toast from back when I had that fuel problem, so some of my off-throttle sputtering may be from poor flow on the cat, but the throttle touchiness is new. Any thoughts??? As for the rest, the manifold swap was a pain only in the fact that it took about 8 hours total (including 1 trip to the parts store and lunch). One of the worst things was getting the blower bolts loose from the manifold. Now with the new manifold in and the 8psi pulley, the car is definately stronger. From a roll on in 2nd it pulled a few lengths on Lundgren by 100mph. 2nd gear didn't seem to be as big of an improvement as 3rd and 4th. Oh well, I will have to take it to the dyno and see what the story is there, and I am sure I will be replacing that smoked Cat in the very near future.

Do you think that the cat could be kicking back a lot back to the engine, maybe some contamination. I think you ought to get that random tech cat right away.
Does it feel faster to you? You didn't pull as much on me as I thought you would be more, but this may be that you're not getting the full potential, but more importantly it may be causeing some of those problems.

VTeCno Geek, I wanted to know where, and how much did you obtain your 8psi pulley. Why did you have to swap your manifold? How did you remove the pulley from the blower, (did you use an impact wrench or common wrench), without the rotors spinning? Sorry for asking so many questions but I'm also considering an 8psi upgrade. JR is taking too long to release one. Thanks.

What header/cat/exhaust do you have? I bet you a 40 ounce of malt liquor that you will rip ass apart if you grabbed a Kamakazi, 2.5-3" cat and a goo exahust. I figure the 8 PSI really needs to get air in and out quickly. Also, have you done the cam gears yet? I bet that'll put some added balls to the power. Man, I'm getting jealous of the 8 PSI guys. I need that exhaust system, new injectors and the 8 PSI setup :P.

I have a DC header and an HKS Super Dragger exhaust, so plenty of flow from these. The Cat is my big concern just because I had such a rich fuel condition earlier this summer that it probably melted the insides of the cat. I really think the throttle is acting up, so I am going to recheck the throttle cable, reset the ECU again, and check everything out up top. I plan on ordering my new Cat in the next week or two, does anybody know where the best price is on a Random Technology Cat?

My experience with the 8psi has not included the symptoms which you are describing. I have DC 421 header and RSR cat back with the stock cat.
As far as power, I can't compare it to anything since I never had the 6psi pulley. But, once I adjusted the timing to a reasonable level, I can tell you that the car feels fast as sh!t.

Hi Mr Geek,
How bout taking a look at that cat sir?
If you know it's trashed (you saw mine) gut that bad boy. And then just get your replacement. Maybe it's me but after installing the gutted cat, I definetley felt a loss in backpressure, but felt a percieved gain on top end. Also less restriction may be benificial for the engine in the long run. Also maybe you and Lundgren can locate the 2 wires used by the o2 sensor, tap into them then use a multimeter to get a rough idea of the air fuel mixture comming down thru your exhaust. The wires can be tapped into from the ecu by the passengers right foot. Use lundgrens service manual to find those wires or I can take a look at mine again.
p.s.
Plugs gapped at 35-32?
Timming at 8*?
Fuel pressure off idle?
Good luck guys

Replace your catalytic converter but don't gut it. All that dust that's generated from clearing it out is highly carcinogenic.
